Wow! That's a darned good success rate! I was never able to get my h. erectus fry past the 7 day mark!! How many have you been able to get to 8.5 months?

Steve, I'm not sure what details you are looking for.
I got the seahorse fry from another hobbyist same day they were born. These are from 2 batches, youngest being 7 months old, oldest 8 1/2.
I'm looking for someone to donate more fry if I pay shipping so I can grow some more.
My adult horses failed a severe bout of Vibrio and so I don't have fry of my own.
I will keep some of these for my own use but need to increase the gene pool by getting more.
I have some new kuda and Comes but they are only about 5 months old so I don't know how long it will be to get them breeding, if they survive.
These new ones are raised with ocean water and as such are as failure prone as wildcaught, just that they each frozen foods.
As for writing articles, everything is already written at the seahorse.org site that I've been learning from since 02.
For me to write, I would be too verbose, unless I illegally copied from another site.
Some basics I just posted prior to this post on another thread.
As for disabled reputation, I don't even know what you are talking about.
I'm not computer literate if it has anything to do with that.

I have 47 with roughly half at 7 months and 8 1/2 months each.
I had 104 more from a batch that was 4 1/2 months old but did something stupid and lost them all within minutes to about an hour and a half. They would have been 6 1/2 months old now if I still had them.
I moved them from a nursery to a newly set up tank with an egg crate divider. To keep the fry from going through the egg crate, I covered it with fiberglass screening.
Eventually I found out that some screening has algacides which I'm assuming did the fatal act.
I'll never know 100% for sure I guess.

thank you Rayjay, thats really interesting
they are great looking creatures, fascinating and very enjoyable to see IMO

OK no worries on article, but a thread on the show of your fish tank section where you can update on your progress Im sure would be followed by many people, including me, as they are truly amazing.

Unless I get more fry from somewhere there really won't be much in the way of updates on fry as these are being sold starting in two weeks.
If I can find some mature seahorses somewhere that are producing already then I'll buy them. Here in Canada we don't have much available in the good ones that are TRULY captive bred like from Seahorse Source.
The odds of success are Sooooo much better with them as opposed to what most stores are calling captive bred, because they are totally bred and raised in aquarium salt water, no ocean water that introduces parasites.
