For lack of a better term....What do you do to keep it from building up in your crushed coral bed and under live rock or base rock in your tank.
Do you just have to deal with it by siphoning it out regularly or is there a trick to keep it from building up?
I don't think you should have to remove your rock periodically to suck it out...or do you?
    What's the trick?

    Thanks

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Personally I use the power heads or a turkey baster to blow it around so the mechanical filter takes it up. Always seems like there are some extreme dead spots that I find and clean a little at a time so as not to stir up too much gunk at one time.

That's what I do before cleaning. I try to blast everything off before a water change.

Yup, me too but I find enormous amounts in places. I just try not to disturb too much at one time.
I have had some muddy puddles after moving some tanks that were set up for years.
Nothing really eats that fine detritus except for maybe a cucumber, but they leave a trail as well.
