Its a nice piece of coral IMO and seems to be good value
be aware that this is a hardy coral and it can spread rapidly over adjoining rockwork
its very attractive especially under the blue / actinic lamps
but IMO if you can isolate it, and then trim the mantle as it tries to bridge from where it is to the nearest surface , then you wont have problems of it spreading and taking over multiple areas in the tank

that is not worth $40 IMO. That stuff grows fast. You could get a free frag from another reefer probably and cover that pretty quick...

    I wouldn't pay that much

    i agree.

I am about to frag my gspand send it to another reefer on here. Did I mention for free? You can start out with a few small pieces and withing a month you will be fighting to keep it off your other rocks.

Well I would be on that same boat but then again we don't know how big it is in the picture. Also is $40 including shipping? if not then that might be the deal breaker but again depends on how big that peice is. So yeah you could get a frag for $10 but somtimes thats why we buy fully grown corals so we dont have to wait for growth.

Free frag and anywhere between 29 and 39 dollars for overnight shipping, and they have to supply the rock which could cost another 10 to 15 dollars.

I would say that if you look at it that way its a pretty good deal. As far as keeping it isolated that fork would be perfect, It stands upright and can be kept away from other rocks which means it can't spread. Keep in mind as someone said it can spread and if its touching any other surface even glass it will spread to that surface, in a new york minute too.

I got it and never really had any issues with it spreading any further because when it starts getting somewhere I don't want it I just peel it back and cut it off with a Razor Knife and either give it to someone or toss it in the trash.

If they are getting it off of Craigslist chances are it will be a pick up, and gaging from the size of the mushrooms and other corals around the rock, I would guess that it is at least 4" tall maybe more.

The GSP also aren't very bright. they look extremely dull as well as the frogspawn next to it. mine are a deep green w/ a deep purple mat. The piece overall doesn't look good.
