okay, well my fish tank the white 10k? light bulb died like, 4 months ago, and the actanic the blue light died around 2 months ago. So my tank has been left in blackness for roughly 4 month, even though I didnt have anything in there when the light bulb went out.

Anyway I noticed before 10k light bulb went out, green hair algae started blooming, and its been 4 months, just recently yesterday I bought 2 brand new 10k and arctanic light bulb. Currently it looks like a jungle in there, theres like 5 hair algae that looks gigantic. What would fix this problem?
By the way as I was getting water tested, i got

    nitrate 0
    nitrite 0
    amonia 0
ph 8.3? I forgot what that number came out to be exactly
I tested those waters in fish store, and have not tested others yet.

If this helps, I dont have any live stock in the tank besides harmit crabs and like 2-3 snail, and the tanks been running for 10 months now.

Pull out whatever you can get a hold of and toothbrush the rock after pulling it out ot the tank. Add please post a pic of the algae.

You tank must be getting natural sun light if the GHA is still there after 4 months of no lights.

It doesn't matter for the sake of the fish, but the fish will add nutrients to your system which may add to the GHA problem.

The fish won't add nutrients. The food used to feed the fish will add nutrients.

I would actually get a algae-eating fish, like a lawnmower blenny. That would remove the algae, and wouldn't add extra nutrients to the system. It would actually free the nutrients, and let the skimmer take them out.

Correction; After the fish eat the food, they excrete, that excretion is nutrients.

yeah, that's what I meant. The whole experience of having a fish - feeding, pooping, etc. adds nutrients.
