Great news today for my vlamingi tang. 3 inch long vlamingi introduced a week ago starting to get cloudy pectoral fins and some small cuts, so i found it to be fin rot. Fed the poor bugger a variety of garlic dipped flakes, sea weed, and shrimp and today, after 4 days of this, her fins are all cleared up.
She is in the clear --- makes me smile

So today went to get some goodies for the fish and came across a blue hippo tang that is less than an inch in length. He ate well at the store so picked him up for 25$. Brought him home and he is eating and more active than anything.
Can only hope for the best. They will soon outgrow their home thus leaving me to enjoy an upgrade, as soon as the funds are available.

Yea tangs can get pretty pricey... especially blue tangs. Big als (large fish franchise) sells them for atleast 70$, but i never see them as small as i have got.
Here is a pic for comparison between my 3 inch vlamingi and Koralia 4.

Divott: I try to stay away from big als when purchasing fish, they are just too damn expensive. Other LFS give way better deals as they have no need to mark up prices 3x compared to bigals.

yeah we've definately found a really great LFS, the guys there are incredibly helpful, they know exactly what they're talking about...and they're friendly as heck. When we first started shopping there they told us that their goal was to be bigger than the big franchises and have lower prices because they can relate to how expensive the hoby can be. It's really great. Plus our two new additions (both purchased at the same place) are absolutely gorgeous and are now both in fabulous health thanks to Sterling!!!
