Alrighty so my mom wasn't too thrilled with the idea of a jug of water suspended above my biocube in the living room. Does anyone have any ideas for a discrete reservoir for my gravity ATO? Obviously it has to be above the tank. Any ideas to make my mommy happy?:)

    Thanks!

Ehh, I'd be scared about the pump staying on. But please, if you have a link to a DIY ATO I'll check it out with an open mind. What I have is... A eshopps float valve and a rio 600 to work with.

I run all my ATO's as simple gravity fed. Simple, cheap and effective, LOL! But all my tanks have areas to but them where they are not an issue.

Is there a closet or something similar close by where you could hide the reservoir and just discreetly run some tubing to the tank area?

Now that you mention it, about 5' from the tank there's a table that my rat cage is on. I could probably put the reservoir there If its high enough! And if it isn't I'll just make a little stand for it. Thank you flipping on my brains on switch:)

Since I don't have a bulkhead can I just cut a hole in the container and put holdfast epoxy around the airline by the hole to make it airtight? Hope that makes since lol.

Probably...I drill all my reservoirs and use a John Guest fitting like you find on RO/DI's that is threaded on one end. I also add a valve in the line so I can shut off the ATO to do maintenance, water changes, etc.

Cool. Since this is 1/4" airline do they make valves to shut off flow?

Yes, you can get them from Bulk Reef Supply in the plumbing parts section.
