I recently saw a sale on Foster and Smith and couldnt resist buying another Koralia Evo and the Smartwave controller. I have 2 1400s and 2 1050s. I havent seen much info on the Smartwave controller so I was wondering if anybody has experience with them? How do the Evo pumps hold up on this controller? Thanks for the input.

There are several 3reef members who own this pump controller. As far as I can tell, people like it a lot. The only complaint I've heard is that it only has two plugs. You can daisy-chain multiple pumps to each plug, but none-the less, they will simply be anti-synced or running all together.

I have heard the clicking of the fans turning on and off is annoying...but have no experience myself

not sure if the 1050 will work, when i plug and unplug mine underwater it makes a very nasty start noise that scares me and the fish. there is a particular koralia powerhead that is meant for the smartwave. good buy other wise

Would you happen to know what powerhead it is? I thought the Evo's were meant for this controller?

Like I already mentioned before in other posts, my smartwave does create a clicking sound in my koralias. I have returned my twice due to a short in the power supply (but Hydor was good at replacing them..however it did cost me like $12 x 2 to ship it to Hydor). It does seem to be have the cheap feel to it but it is nice.. Also, I just started running 2 Koralias 1400s and 2 Nanos (425s) and works just fine.
