For a very active fish that will eat algae (a +) I have always kept a Coral Beauty. I even kept one in a 10 gal. (much to the chagrin of some other aquarists) and she (they are all she and named Cora) did fine.
For inverts, Blue (preferably) or Red leg Hermit Crabs, Conch and Nassarious snails. I like Tubo snails but they cause rock and coral frags to fall so I don't keep them anymore.

Go to http://reefcleaners.org and fill out the custom clean up crew form. John will e-mail you a clean up crew specially tweaked to your very system.

Invert wise, get a cleaner shrimp. No reef is complete without a cleaner shrimp! ;D

my tank has been a month. And currently 1 clown and damsel with 1 sail and 3 nas snail and 1 blue hermit.
my water test shows up as
    0 amonia
    0 nitrite
    15 nirtrate

will it be safe for me to add 1 small clown and 1 cleaner shrimp ?

In case you are unaware, you say you have 1 clown, that is a damsel and then you say you have a damsel so you have 2 damsels in there already. I would not add another damsel, they tend to fight. Also, we were remiss in not asking more about the tank. You are in a cycle now and you should not have that much in there now. So, after the complete cycle is accomplished (another 2-4 months) then you can add more livestock.

A Banggai cardinalfish is a community, reef-safe fish that wouldn't hurt a fly. (even if flies lived underwater). :)
