We are getting ready to head out of town, leaving friday afternoon and returning sunday afternoon. I'm worried about my anthia going without food for that long, so i feel your pain.

    Choose wisely.....

A friend of mine babysat a tank and unfortunately she didn't know what she was doing and I'm pretty sure you can imagine what happened...

Depending on how long your going for really. If for only for 3-5 days, I'd say feed well before you leave. I go for the weekends from Friday til Sunday night without feeding.
Otherwise I've got an auto flake feeder :)

$50 per day from LFS solves this problem! In house service.

As in they go to your house? Id rather rely on my dog to feed my fish than some stranger in my home around my valuables

2 days is nothing lol. Dont buy an autofeeder and dont pay some dude to walk in your house.

I went on vacation for 10 days and my fish were only fed 2-3 times and they were perfectly fine, fat dumb and happy. I agree, just feed a little extra before you leave

When you have hungry aggressive fish things turn sour sometimes.

If you are going to get someone (friend or family member) prepare a bunch of food ahead of time and package it in daily portions. Then just tell the person to dump one "packet" in each day- simple as that.

That way you don't have to worry about them putting too much or too little or the wrong stuff.

Fortunately, my fish can go several days without food (non-aggressive) and when I go for longer, I have an autofeeder that can feed up to 4x daily (way more than I need)
