My dog came from a shelter and we were very lucky. Friends got one a few years later and weren't so lucky. The bad part is you never know what was done to them by the previous owners, you can say they are like a box of chocolates.

I like storm, kinda reminds me of storm from X men, with the white eyes;)

sure some are bad here and there, but I've always had nothing but rescues, and even 2 wolves that were abused, and I've never had a mean dog, and thats prob 20 or so dogs in my life, and besides, purebred, $1000 dogs can turn on you just as quick, owning a dog always has a potential for a problem, you just have to minimize the risks as much as you can, pure bred or rescue. Brutus was obviously beaten horrible by an overweight short black haired guy, yet he's prob one of the calmest nicest dogs ever.

Last night was at a friends house that has 3 pit bulls that was rescued from horrible conditions. Without even thinking I flipped one of the males over on his back on my lap and started rubbing his belly. He kind of looked at me like............hmmm, I am not a lap dog, i have never been placed on my back like this........not sure about this...........lick, lick, lick.........I love this!!!!

He's probably a few weeks old now. We haven't had to bottle feed him, but we do give him a little milk every once in a while :)

lol, awesome, I love pits, one of the most misunderstood breeds. they make AWESOME family dogs, my next rescue will likely be a pit.

Jack away, that's what this thread is for, sharing cool rescue stories;)
