I read around but couldn't figure out anything definitive about my situation, which is probably normal but I'm a newbie at this. I want to move my LR around and glue but I don't want to rip anything out of the water. I have it stacked pretty close to where I want it aquascapped but I fumble my hands and rock falls almost hitting my glass. I am afraid I will crack the tank one day.

My question is can I use gorilla glue or super glue (difference between the two, I already own gorilla glue) while everything is submerged in the water? I'm not supporting the weight of the rock since they are stacked but I want them secure. Does that make sense?

    Thanks guys! ~~

Your question makes sense. I've only used superglue gel and 2 part putties. The 2 part stuff would probably be the best for your situation.

super glue gel for frags.. underwater exopy for rocks. its like play-do you mix it together and smush it into the rocks.. works ok. similiar to plumber putty/exopy..

I wouldnt use gorilla in a tank.

I was a little scared to use that glue since it might have chemicals to harm my livestock.

Does this 2-part reef puty dry relatively quick or is it set it and forget it? :)

I use that putty a lot but i smother the super glue gel on top of it. I tried to us that 2-part putty on my rock but it never got a good bond. I guess if you scrubbed the area were the putty will grow really well it may stick. I just haven't had much luck with it on wet rock.

Good news for everyone. Wal Mart now carries a two part epoxy just like the reef stuff! It's less than half the price! They keep it right next to the super glue.

I've been using it for awhile now to see what would happen and have seen no bad effects.

It works very well on rock. You can just push it in between your rocks and leave it. Be sure you smash it into the rock surface, because the more pores it gets into the stronger the bond. I put a few rocks together with this stuff awhile ago, and cannot get them apart now. I even tried a hammer and the joint won't break!

YEah that is the stuff I use. I wasn't going to pay $15 at the LFS for it when Wally World has it for like $5.

I use the epoxy from the LPS. I had dificulty at first until I figured it out. "It doesnt work very well at all on wet rock!" I think its more designed for dry base rock but even then it can be tricky. The key is letting it set for 30 minutes or more. I usually do it with my portable heater blowing on it and it bonds well then. Also if your using it on a flat portion of a rock you need to scuff that area down for it to get a good grip.
