    I am not typically a big fan of Petco but they do have a good sale going on for a 90 gallon glass tank with built in overflow for $305.00. The tank did not list a brand and the representative was not sure either. I wanted to go about this size for my FOWLR but was not sure if I should look for a different type of tank or not. Any input would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Seems like a good deal. Is the tank running in the store or was it running...

    Are you asking if you should get a glass or acrylic tank? Or if this tank you mentioned is a good deal? It's not a bad deal, that price is about right for that sized tank and style. As far as glass or acrylic goes;

    Glass: Cheap, durable, won't scratch as easily, heavy potential for seams to fail.

    Acrylic: More expensive, scratches easily, lighter, whole tank is stronger than glass

    I prefer glass. Cheaper and no scratches. Acrylic tanks craze (To produce a network of fine cracks in the surface) with Windex too.

    Definatly glass because it gives the aquarium an aquarium look where acrylic has curves 4 corners wich i dont like(just my opinion)

    Glass does not have any more likelyhood of a seam failure than acrylic IMHO. Silicone is a very good maker of a seal with glass.

    Acrylic has a chance of the plastic getting stress cracks, easily scratched, but wieh less than glass tanks.

    I got my 120 brand new from petco and it only cost about 100$ more. Granted I didnt get an overflow at all with it. But sounds like a decent deal to me!
