I'm trying the inverted water bottle technique tonight. It's already in the tank with the sacrificial snail inside!

If the bottle doesn't get it, the needle/syringe is next - about all I have to inject it with is Aiptasia-X!

Gives me the heebeegeebees, too! I can't take credit for the pic - that was Jwin at about midnight last night. He left a big note on my computer and the picture. Nice thing to wake up to....

You could try injecting it with fresh water, or hot fresh water. That should be enough to kill it.

Question? You said to pull it out gently or the worms would fall out. Does this mean they DO NOT get stuck to the nylon? I've heard that once attached to the nylon the worms can not get free. Is this true?

good question.. The larger ones will aggressively go after the bait and get hung up on the nylon, while the smaller ones will, if the water rushes though it too fast, get flushed out when you pull it upwards...I just found that if you raise it gently, slowly, you will bring out what went in.8)

As an update, we're still trying to catch the flatworm. It probably isn't hungry right now since it devoured one of my snails the other night. I haven't seen any other "victims" - we've been baiting the trap with a live snail every night. Will keep trying!

This is an awesome idea! I bet it would work for stone crabs, and almost any undesirable scavenger. (just with a xanthid crab you'd prob make the holes bigger for him to crawl into)

But what an amazing way of getting rid of bristle worms!

    +1 grandad!

I also have a version for fish..I think I'll do a demo with it...even cheaper to make.
