I am thinking about getting BSR GFO/Carbon reactor.

There's a single chamber model, or dual chamber model.

Any reason why I can't get the single chamber model and mix GFO and Carbon in it? Do you need to have separate chambers for each?

Do any of you run BSR reactor? What pump do you recommend? I need something as quiet as possible.

What other rector would you recommend for 125g dt with 50g sump.

    Thanks.

IMO I wouldnt run GFO and Carbon together.. would probably clump up and be a mess. Also the two medias need different flow rates carbon being low flow and GFO having more. Two reactors on one pump also wouldnt be a great idea. I thought about getting the BRS reactors but was directed to go else where.

Thanks for the reply. Currently in my hob filter, in a filter sock I have both carbon and phosguard granules. They seem to always be ok and never "make a mess".

I always thought phosguard and gfo was the same thing. I just now realized it's not.

So, to rephrease, can I run carbon and phosguard in a single reactor chamber just like I do in my hob filter sock?

I've also read some posts about how phosguard is bad, but then there's also rebuttal from seachem. So confused :)

BRS recommends mixing them half and half. I think they have a video.

I always mix them with no problems. I wouldn't get a BRS reactor though, it is a bad design IME and tends to clog very easily.

GFO and carbon have both different useful lives and different flow requirements. Use a dual reactor such as this one which has seperate ball valves so each reactor can be controlled independently andcan be taken out of servive without shutting the other off while still using one common pump:
