    FTR, I think it's worth reviving, as there's a myth going around that nems/corals don't sting based on a few people's experience with not having any reaction. This can be very dangerous to those who may be allergic...

    My own experience was many years ago while placing my very first nem with my bare hand. I could feel a tingle in my palm, which later went numb for a couple of hours.

    yes, i constantly have small blisters on my hands from blindly sticking them in my sump where no telling what lives down there. i believe the culprits are anemones that seem to enjoy the dark. Of course it's my own fault since i am too impatient to go put on the gloves.

    Yes, you were involved with the latest, although I have seen that stated a few times elsewhere. Thankfully I was only locally sensitive and not allergic.

    Besides in the pocketbook? A long spine urchin (felt like a bee) & most recently, a Skilter 400... :eek: I'm still waiting for the accidental sting from the lion & the bite from the zebra moray... :-/
