I'm getting an RO/DI for xmas. I'm torn between these three. I need some opinions.
Here's my needs. I make about 10 gallons of water a week if that. I'm gonna go up to a 40 Gallon tank with 20g sump.. or a 75 sumpless tank partitioned with a fuge... maybe next year. But for now I have a 16 gallon with a 10 gallon sump.

I'll give SpectraPure a +1 as well. Even when I had a problem (broken part in shipment), they immediately both addressed the problem and sent me some gratis filter replacements for my trouble. They definitely believe in customer service and stand behind their product.

I got the 90 Gallon Per Day MaxCap RO/DI System for $249. It is easy to set up and easy to use. Can't complain at all.

With any RO/DI you get what you pay for. Ebay systems are not the good deal they first appear to be. Almost always you end up spending much more to make the system work as it should. While they look pretty much the same visibly, whats contained inside is what makes the difference.

I will also give Spectrapure a big thumbs up:thumb_up:. I have been using their equipment for years, my water quality has never been better and my DI has never lasted longer which ends up being a big long term cost savings. Yes, I paid more to begin with but the savings in replacements has more than made up for that difference.

Units like the Mighty Mite do not use standard 10" replacement filters so when it comes time for replacements they cost more, do not come in as many desirable micron sizes, do not last as long, do not filter as well so do not protect the membrane as well and are harder to find. The unit isn't really that much smaller either, its the same length just a few inches shorter since it does not have the better vertical filters. It also does not come with an inline pressure gauge or TDS meter so figure those into the cost as you will want them for troubleshooting and operating your RO/DI.

The ProPlus at $149 is a much better value. It comes with everything you need including the TDS meter, pressure gauge, full size vertical prefilter, carbon block, 20 oz refillable DI and a capillary tube flow restrictor so you can fine tune the system for your exact water conditions.

Awesome thanks guys! AZ I'm buying the Proplus! Thanks for pointing it out. Was looking at Airwaterice, but the built in dual TDS and PSI meter sold me, considering the latter was without both! The H20 on Ebay was 129 with only the PSI meter. Sold!

BTW I read somewhere you said the H20 Science RO/DI units were decent. Have you changed your mind? It was an older posting.. Thanks again!

H2O Science is PurelyH2O, same company. They are OK units but do not compare to the Spectrapure units. At $149 you won't find any unit anywhere that compares to the ProPlus.

Does anyone know if the Spectrapure offer is still on 150$ for the Proplus. I ordered it 10 days ago, but have not received anything other than an order# the night I ordered it. I left a message and emailed them and they'll contact me soon. Is this how everyone elses order went down?
