real sorry to hear about this. i can share a fraction of the feeling you had. 2 weeks ago i forgot to turn my ro/di off before i left for work, my 75gpd unit had my 2nd floor apartment kitchen FLOODED. several rolls of paper towels and drying my home towels later it was all dry, thank god.

glad to see you're going to stick it out.

I agree, what ATO? I love automation of tanks, as much as possible, but without enough failsafes, you can end up with issues.

Sorry for your losses Phil, you can rebound and start up again.

I am sorry to hear about your loss. I have had a tank crash before and know how dishearting it is. I cant imagine what your going through exp with a large tang like mine. Glad to see you hanging in there. I can offer some free frags when your back up and running as I seem to have an umbundance of them. Let us know how it comes along. It will be soon enough before your up and running again.

Ouch. Do you think that had you had the 2switches set, one as the primary, and the second as the fail safe stop in the sump that that method would have stopped the overflow? or did you have it set that way?

I ask because a friend just PM"d me today asking about the JBJ ato. I have a reef fanatic ATO, and it is set so both switches are in the sump, the one on top as a fail safe, and I can't imagine both float sensors failing at the same time. I am pretty sure the jbj one can be configured this way as well.

    Hang in there bud:)

How about making a brackish tank?;)
