    +1 lol

I could see maybe being a freshwater tank owner and thinking these are cool for the next step, but after owning a salt tank I couldn't imagine looking at a chichlid tank and saying "awww man how awesome", as much as I would think "eh, where's the color?"

Different people appreciate different things. I personally love the blue striped cichlids already mentioned. Given the choice between a 240 cichlid tank or a 240 reef, well i would choose reef. If i had the money, but A cichlid tank would be a cool FW low money project/tank.

Cant wait to see what you get!

Before I got into salt I had a couple of cichlid tanks, including a cool 55g. I had a pair of Jewels, an awesome firemouth, a tilapia, a breeding pair of convicts, and a few others. As soon as I setup the reef tank I completely lost interest. The tank would just sit in the dark for weeks at a time. I felt bad for the fish and the tank sort of turned into a white elephant. So I decided to tear the whole thing down.

I don't mean to discourage you, I say go for it and have a blast. It's always fun to start a new tank.

maybe they are from canada eh!!! why say anything if you can't say something good eh!. to each their own and cichlids are very cool and lots of color and a hell of a lot less money than saltwater tanks. Yes some of the fish are expensive but overall not a quarter of the hastle of saltwater tanks.

males can get up to 1 ft in length, so they need a big tank.
