Why does Garlic help stimulate appetite?

I haven't seen it in most fish stores until recently. I was just curious, because it's not like theres marine garlic growing out in the Carribean..

Garlic entices the fish's taste. It's just a strong attractant to them. They like it. I dont have a scientific explanation but I'm guessing it's because of it's strong scent and taste that makes their food taste a lot better.

It's also good for they immunity. It helps them fight any type of disease a lot better. Keeps their health in check.

You would want it to be a liquid so that it can soak into the food you feed your fish.

There is a product by Kent Marine named Garlic Xtreme. It is about 12-15 bucks depending on your LFS. If you live in a good area, it might be more. Buy it online or through eBay to save you costs. I dont care for the price, the benefits in my opinion outweight the cost. My fishs' health is priceless. There is also a Kent Marine product named Marine-C, another great immunity booster for fishies. I'm planning on getting that too. :tongue4:

Someone on 3reef mentioned using your own garlic, but forgot what type and how to prepare it in liquid form. Ask around.

Garlic extreme is the same as garlic extract, which you can find at a local grocery store. Also I have smash up garlic, then rubbed it on nori.

Ive been making my own for years. I use the pure garlic extract from the grocery store. I use a Kent Garlic bottle with the dropper top, and I just treat the food every now and then. I have even used real garlic. I just clean it, peel it, throw it in the food processor, make it mush, then add it to the garlic bottle for use. It always seems to work real well.
