Recently got some Hammer coral. I've had it for a little over a week now. It's not fully opening, any suggestions on where I should put it? Had it in the middle of my 72 reef tank. Also, how strong of water flow would you suggest keeping my Galaxia coral in?

I just got a hammer and I have him on my sand bed, with moderate flow. He is verrrry happy!

The galaxia can handle quite a bit of flow but they do have sweeper tenticles that can really stretch out. I would keep it away from everything within a 5" radius depending on its size. I finally got rid of mine as it was pretty large but the sweepers were causing havoc with everything close by. I kept a small frag and started over. As far as the hammer I agree with kcbrad, thats how I have mine, recently fragged it into 3 nice 3 head frags.

Make sure the flesh isn't getting too much flow on the hammer. Also, watch out for sweepers on the galaxea.
