believe it or not he was actually a rescue ~6 months ago maybe less, i got him when picking up some LR from a tank breakdown of a 30 extra tall (24Lx24Hx12D) which was his residence for about 7 years and he had no where else to go so the 55 was supposed to be a temporary home until i found him a bigger one. so the day came i had found him a 450 to move into and i couldnt get him out of the tank for 2 weeks straight so i finally gave up and said screw it ill deal with it when i breakdown and start up the next tank since he wasnt showing signs of stress ich etc and was eating well....his fins were a little torn from when he was in the 30 and they've been healing up nicely since other than that hes a perfect model citizen and he really doesnt swim around much mostly perches himself places or sits right in front of my mp10 surfing the currents lol....probably habits he picked up from being crammed in such a small tank for so long

I'm sure he'll be fine until you get your larger tank ready.

FWIW- Early on, I had to hospital tank my Blue tang in a 5g bucket- had about 3g in it! I caught him by feeding on top and being REAL quick with a net!

After hearing your whole story of this guy, YOU should keep him!!

tried everything from feeding time to pulling half my rock out to bottle traps....he just knows, too damn smart

yea i dont think he'll have an issue....i have ich in my systems but only really shows if we have a black out or something like that so im going to QT everyone and leave the tank fallow for 8-10 weeks with the temperature a little high in the DT to speed up the ich life cycle and hopefully rid the tank of everything...i want to pick up an achilles and they're a little more delicate, i have a lfs that has amazing prices around me and great stock the QT(not treat unless something shows up in QT)....they sell juvi chevrons for like $95, blue spot jawfish for $65 etc
