I've had my frogspawn now for about two weeks and tonight I noticed that Krusty the Clown was rubbing around and "nesting" in the frogspawn. The coral didn't seem to mind, it never retracted and seemed fine. Wasn't able to snap a picture but hopefully will be able to tomorrow.

I'm wondering if it's safe for my frogspawn. I never intended on the clown hosting the coral, I've heard it can kill the coral by irritation but luckily the frogspawn is two or three heads, but is the size of a softball so it's about 3-4x the size of my clown.

Big fan of Euphyllia sp. and hopefully monday will be buying a wall frogspawn which I've never seen before except the one I will be buying. Basically looks the same except does not branch, just grows in a big fat round bone.

If the frogspawn Does host the clown, is that a good thing? I feel like I've seen pictures of frogspawns hosting clownfish but just unsure if it will hurt the bone structure and why does everyone have anemone's to host a clown rather than large euphyllia colonies?

It can cause problems for the host if the clown gets too energetic or large. Generally considered not preferable. Hope all works out well.

Sure hope it works out - but you all make me feel doubtful. I've read a few success stories so I'm just going to cross my fingers and try to avoid the flipping a quater to decide which must go

Hmm $20 occy or $50 frogspawn Hmm

Since I love Euphyllia sp. the clown would have to go back to LFS if it starts to take out the Frogspawn. Really want to grow these colonies out and frag them into a larger tank one day. They are so beautiful - and I have seen both mother colonies which are very gorgeous and about the size of basketballs. I've also have heard it's possible to cross-breed hammer with frogspawns so I want to research that as well.

If he does have to go he won't be hard to catch. i've accidentally scooped him into a cup several times when I get water to mix with Phyo or to test with. He's a dummy lol

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Yes I saw the title and was thrilled. :)

The Euphyllia you are looking at is a Hammer right?

My Clown is going to a new tank because it has chosen my Duncan as a host, not good after a couple months I can see the stress. Lastly I have had a clown stress and kill a couple Euphyllias over the years.

wrong post or are you talking about my led's? they seem to be doing a decent job so far!

The coral i'm looking at was listed as an $80 wall frogspawn? it looked a little larger than a softball

I'm really hoping that my Frogspawn is big enough to host and that the clown doesn't get to frisky in his new home. Right now the clown is sleeping in his normal spot on the waters edge in the back left corner like a newb :/

I agree with everyone who has posted. It will definitely not benefit the FS.
