Freshwater bacteria cultures in a SW tank?

    Hello, I was wondering if taking a filter sock from my freshy tank would help speed the cycle of my SW tank? Thanks.

    i'm not positive, but most bacteria i've seen sold are for both fresh and salt so probably! I just used microbelift and it said just that, but that it takes alot more for salt!

    So a filter sock from a fresh tank should help a salt tank?

    not sure that you'd want to introduce bacteria from another tank, but it seems fine! Why not just buy a product like microbe lift thats desgned for it? It's only $10 or so!

    did i mention it smells like turds covered in burnt hair locked in a car for weeks in the desert? sure that will sway your opinion! i may have to condemn my house!lol
