If you don't have a QT, try to slowly acclimate over at least an hour. In a bag or Tupperware container in the DT.

I would never use your method. Fresh water dips are to be in an emergency to attempt to save a fish/coral. One day prior to getting a new fish, dose the display with Marine-Max. Acclimate your fish and introduce it to the display.

If the fish has no signs of parasites you should not dip. Might end up stressing the fish enough to get ich.
The method your using is safest when u match the water temp the fish came in, to the FW dip water witch should also be the same as your main tank temp. if you have to float the fish bag and a bag of RO then do it. Place fish along with a bubbler and airstone in the FW dip container. No more than 7 min i usually do 3-5. After that should be good for the main tank.
I only adjust temp for this dip method and use RO water. I know of some that use tap along with adjusting the ph. I dont use tap cause after the parasite falls off the fish it leaves a little hole, like a scratch bacteria could enter. Also i dont adjust Ph cause i think it kills more parasites when it shocks them, and the fish is not left in there long enough to have ill affects.

best thing you could do for her is set up QT at your house then just introduce the fish to her tank after you did the Q
    hope it helped some.

yep just scoop him up and place back in the tank,as long as the water temps are the same.. You could QT at your house the just bag it up and take to her house..
