Frags to the MAX: Marine Aquarium Expo 2010

Come to the East coast with it!!

 

I went, I didn't see you Matt. Jen and I got there about 2pm on Sunday. We picked up the pair of Platinum percs from Age of Aquariums.

 

Cool score! Aqe of Aquariums always has great booths at these shows. Their corals were top notch (2nd pic on 1st post). I was out of there by noon on Sunday as I had to drive 7 hours home. Sorry I missed ya!

All the frag tanks had LEDs on them because a clever LED retailer gave them all to them for the show! They were good to at least display frags for the couple days of the show. That said, one person there did tell me that they have had long term success with their led setup growing corals. They had a custom LED light that they built however.

I wish 3reef were rolling in that kind of dough!

I didn't catch the price on those Steve. Sorry. Perhaps someone else did?

Matt several of the coral vendors own LED and use them at every show... Steel City, Reef koi, Cherry, UWW and a few others have been using them for the year or so at shows.

 

I was sporting my 3Reef shirt too, but I understand the drive back up north. Sorry we missed you again this year. Maybe next year, or iMAC we'll meet up. I think I heard the vendor saying that the apple scolly was $350, but I may be mistaken. That's almost as ridiculous as how much Jen and I paid for the platinums. lol

In comparison, the MAX thread on RC got so outright disgusting that we refuse to respond there anymore. Posting in the SoCal forum on RC is like playing in a 3rd grade sand box. 3Reef is the place to be!

I keep telling people (those who who live outside California):
"Don't come all the way out to Southern California for a fish show, come out to SoCal for the dozen other things there are to do!"
....then if you've got time to visit MAX, well....Bonus!"

In any case, something tells me you should plan on visiting Disneyland around the first week of April next year......I'm just sayin' ;D

 

Great thread, so I just had to give it a bump!
