Found out why my kole tang died

It was a smaller condy, I planned on doing another 15gallon water change tonight, that will be about 30 gallons in 3 days is that to much water to change out?

So its good to have a all carbon canister filter?

I will have my 30 gallon wet/dry filter with 30gallon sump up and running soon just waiting on all the parts to come in. So hopfully I can get rid of the canister.

 

Are you using it just to hold carbon? I think the consensus is that canisters as the main filter are not as good in reefing and can be higher maintenance to clean, versus a sump and a skimmer, and possibly a refugium. I will let the experts chime in as I've never used a canister but I wouldn't think it would be an issue to use it to run carbon.
I was thinking of polyfilter to just take out any toxins in the short term from the nem.

 

Yes it is just holding the carbon and I dont know what a polyfilter is, would it be a chem to ad to it?
