I have no idea if people actually eat them. I doubt it though. Doesn't look like it has much meat;)

There's only a couple of species that can break glass. It won't feel good if he had hit you, but that species is also not one than can break your bones. Force = Mass x Accelaration. The small species still have large amount of accelaration in their strike. However, they just don't have sufficient mass in their raptorial appendages (clubs) to generate a lot of force.

yea i would just keep him in the sump, he wont break the glass, and as for him laying on his side or back, that is completely normal, just as a dog would lay down, and food wise they love small crabs, snails and hermit crabs, and people in japan eat the large spearers, that they catch over there

    Good to know, thanks inwall

Ok cool. Do I have to feed him solely on crabs, snails and hermits? Or would other foods such as, raw shrimp suffice?

excellent find siddique. theyre fun little creatures. i found a n.wennarae around xmas. its got its own pad now. lol .i feed it once a week krill , and keep a few snails in the for snacks. i believe theyre pretty tolerant of varying water conditions too. inwall would probably know the species of it. i like the coloration of yours.

What type of snails do you keep in there?
I have a lot of Stomatella Varia. Are those acceptable?
I think it's called a lime green mantis (Gonodactylaceus spp) but I'm not sure.

he or she will be fine in your sump plus if you bought it its most likely acrylic so he wont break it. my fuge is acrylic. if you put him in a 20 gallon glass you could just reinforce the bottom with some acrylic just for safe mind and not to worry they can go weeks without food depending on the species and it looks like yours wont get too big. feed him a hermit crab or something like that for fun. i feed mine small goldfish she is 4 inches right now. good luck! and wish i found mine instead of spendin $55 on her but she is so worth it!

I'll give the snails I have a try and see how that works out.
I may pass on the hermits for food. At $30-50TTD a piece, he'll be eating better than I am lol.
I could maybe collect some from our reef but I don't know if I'd have the heart lol.
I'd rather feed him goldfish than hermits lol.

The sump is glass but I'm not too worried about it.
