I decide to make this thread for all those ppl who have a corner or center overflows and maybe have forgotten that these "walls" also need maintenance. Most, if not all over-flows have two "quarter moon" shaped plastic walls. Near the bottom of the outer wall have the same opening as the top. As everyone knows that the top slit does the job of surface skimming and the bottom slit makes sure that theres also a bottom water movement. I noticed that my corner flow wasnt "flowing" as it should. So I got a hanger and started to jerk it up and down from one side to the other between the two walls. Alot of "stuff" started to float up and over the over flow. Needles to say, sponges, sand, algae and even those small star fish looking things(I forget the name) came up. My flow has improved by a 120% to say the least. Here are a couple of pics of my over-flow. Hope this has helped or refersh some memories out there. Happy reefing.;D
Dont forget to click on the pics to get a real close up.

Awesome thanks.. I recently got a tank with a corner overflow tlike this. My overflow has the piece on the outside with the bottom and top notches as well but this piece actually slides out so you can clean between them.

I pulled out a few snail/hermit shells crammed between the overflow walls with long nose pliers when I was cleaning out my tank (used) before setting it up.
