foam in sump?

    I recently bought an already running saltwater set up and I notice alot of foam in the middle section of my sump. water in this section goes over bio balls, foam pads, and a few bags of some white material (don't know what it is).

    does anyone know why im getting this foam? and how bad is it for my tank?

    It could be coming from the skimmer. check that out and see how much foam or bubbles that is producing, I had the same problem when I first set up my tank as well.
