I got a 75g setup with 2 koralia 4's one in each corner. The way my water flows in my tank is kinda like a circle. I attached a horrible pic i drew (pls dont be drinking or eating i will not be responsible for u choking while laughing lol). But i was just curious if my flow pattern was fine or should i aim my powerheads a diffrent way. U cant tell in the pic but the middle of the tank gets good flow and no dead spots that i can see of anywhere in the tank. Dang sorry u have to click the image link i couldnt figure how to make it pop up on its own

A k4 that low might cause a constant sand storm

    welcome to 3 reef reice05

my advice - your inhabitants opinions are the most valuable
if your corals look OK - great , if they look swept over thats a no no IMO

a lot depends on what you are keeping - some corals prefer a more disrupted/ haphazard flow rate , which you can achieve by placing both of those KS towards the back corner facing the centre of front glass - this will create a turbullent effect in that area, ideal for SPS and other high flow loving species

K+ I agree with this 100% my corals did not like the "constant flow" of my MP40's when I switched to more of a wave mode they did better.

I attended a marine reef conference last weekend and one of the speakers was a man by the name of Jake Adams. He has done a lot of research in the area of flow in reef aquariums and this type of flow is similar to what he was suggesting. You get much more flow with this method and the rocks and corals themselves provide the turbulence. Ideally, you would want to be able to alternate the flow on a timer and have it go one direction for a time, then switch directions. You would need more pumps since only half would be on at a time, but he also said you can keep the flow in one direction, the only effect being that some corals will tend to lean with the current after some time.

I don't think I can describe what all he said as well as he was able to explain it, but I'm sure you can find information on him and his research on the internet.
