I'm researching what to buy to get enough flow in my new tank. (planning on growing SPS) Considering going with one of the 3 following options:

    1 Vortech mp60
    2 Vortech mp40s
    Or possibly 1 MP60 and 1 MP 40

Does anyone have experience with these pumps and could give me some advice.

Tank dimensions are 24deep, 72 long, and 30 tall

Wow, so maybe I really underestimated... Lol. I'm still relatively new to the hobby. Had a fish tank for years, went salt water 2 years ago and have been into softies/mushrooms/zoas for about a year. I'm looking forward to getting a stronger setup.

So, do we think 2 MP60s and the return flow from the sump/fuge will be enough?

I'm also seriously considering going with LEDs Aquaillumination SOL to be exact. Any input? Or other (just as good but hopefully a tad less pricey) good systems to research?

From what I know, you need 30x at least, if you plan to grow sps.

If it was me personally, I'd go with 2 MP40's in opposite ends. It seems better than to have one strong wavemaker but have no opposing flow.

That makes the most sense to me as well. If I do a dense rock structure, I'll bury a Koralia wavemaker in the rockscape.

The MP40w ES operates on tanks between 50 and 500+ gallons, producing 1,000 to 3,200 gallons of flow per hour.

The MP60w ES designed for larger tanks ranging from 120 to over 1,000 gallons and up to one-inch glass thickness. With the smallest in-tank footprint for a pump capable of pushing 7,500 GPH, the MP60w ES is ideal for larger tanks.

Like mentioned above a 60 & a 40 would be way overkill both in terms of turnover & probably budget. 2 x 40's would get you a good rate & that's without adding in filter/skimmer overflow as well.
