Should you keep your flow the same at night as in the daytime?

I would keep the flow constant. I try to keep my tank as stable as possible by not changing anything around.

I have thought long and hard about this one. part of me wants to turn off the loop at night to settle the tank down. but doing this is for the fish so they can sleep. but the ocean doesnt turn off or really slow down so the fish can sleep.

There are controllers you can get that are meant just for power heads. Some of the settings usually include a feeding & also a night setting, in which flow is turned down to simulate calmer waters at night. Though the feeding setting is just so food doesn't go all over the tank & fish can get it easily.

some people with options , various wave modes, might choose to reduce flow at night

Im running 4 x 6000 LPH Klones and I run these 24/7 in my 5ft
and my corals seem to be doing OK

the fish will find places to rest, behind the rockwork or in gaps between rocks where its not so turbulent IMHO

The ocean doesn't really slow down and neither does my tank. My fish take refuge in the rocks and behind the power to sleep. I've never seen any ill effects.

I dont mess with mine at all....the only time I shut the powerheads is when I am feeding.

My powerheads are run by a controller that turns them down to 1/2 speed at night. Before I got these, mine ran 24/7. I can't say that I notice a difference. I like turning them down because it seems to "quiet" the tank down in the evening. I absolutely love the "off for feeding mode" as all my fish get a chance to eat everything and nothing seems to settle on the bottom.

I think it is really just a personal preference and not necessary for the fish or corals.
