Hi guys i have a 65 gallon reef tank. I have some corals and have a blue tang, yellow tang, and two oceanllis clownfish. I was thinking about getting a flame angelfish for my reef tank. I have read that flame angelfish could nip corals. Does anyone have a flame angelfish in there reef tank and does it nip at there corals.

Hot or miss with the dwarfs. Beautiful fish but not worth the risk in a reef

dude, IMO you're gonna have more probs than a flame angel nipping your corals! ya have a fish meant for a 180 gallon tank, a yellow tang that is borderline ok in a 65(I have 1 too) and now your adding another fish that likes space! Thats a recipe for a major ICH outbreak!

    i'd not risk it!

i will go on the other side of the equation. ive had a flame for 3 years now, plus a coral beauty. theres has been no nipping from either of them. another difference, is the coral has the more aggressive of the 2 . in regards to its tankmates. as weve all learned, you can never predict how any fish will act. so personally , i wouldnt have any reservations adding one. and such a nice colorful fish
