Heater core went out in the mustang a while back, since it's a convertible it gets parked all winter anyway so I just bypassed it instead of tearing the entire dashboard out to replace it

Vette died on me earlier this week, mechanic told me it needed a new distributor cause it was getting fire around to the cylinders, did some checking and the wire from the ignition coil to the distributor had simply come loose, just had them all replaced less than a month ago so it just worked it's way loose, resecured it and it's all fixed back up, total for fixing both cars under $10 :)

That's a pretty cheap fix. I don't blame you for not wanting to pull the dash it's a big job. I See people all the time that come into our dealership and spend a couple thousand dollars for something that I can fix for a couple hundred ( glad to be able to work on cars). I don't know much about the stang but if you need any help with the vette let me know I can try to help you as much as I can. Been a GM tech for a while.

10 bucks on one car for a fix is a steal. to do 2 for that is a Smokin del!

    Congrats. :)

What year mustang? I have had a couple myself, and the worst thing to fix on the ones I have had have been heater cores, but even my original on my 87 fox body lx hatch 5.0 was original. With the distributor in the back on gm v8's, I can see why you could overlook such a simple fix.

mustang is a titled 89 1/2, true 25th anniversary gt convertible
vettes distributor isnt in the back, its called the GM Optispark unit it's mounted between the water pump and block, the water pump sticks way off the front and is driven by the cam shaft instead of the belt so it's unclutched and variable speed
