Has anyone managed to fit an ATi Sunpower(6 Bulb), or similar type of T5 fixture into a low profile canopy?

I am going to be getting a new fish tank stand, and would love to have a matching canopy, but I just don't think it would house the T5 Fixture very well.

    Thanks :D

I have not heard of anyone doing that. I think you would need to add vents wherever the vents and fans are on the light fixture to keep the airflow going.

+1...with vents and an open back, I would think it should be fine.

I built my own- CA has High quality German reflectors- even bare fixtures for sale and they come with T5 connectors and bulb holders, only 60 bucks plus shipping, I used american made T5 ballast's- industrial quality, this makes a big difference in not only bulb life but coloration. Then simply build the canopy to fit- the reflector I have will do 8 bulbs but to have individual reflectors on a 12 inch wide tank you can only do 6 bulbs- w/o a curve to the reflector. I have pic's of the build- and believe me it beats the pants off a 150 mh and twin t5 bulbs- but I do miss the shimmer of the MH, so I am going to loose a center bulb and add an LED array down the center.

I have this over a coral/clam show tank that is 45 gallons. 24 high 36 long 12 wide.

My 8 inch Deressa clam is one happy fellow. As are all my corals- but remember 6 T5's create a lot of heat- open the back of the canopy and add fans to each side- one inpuut and one exhaust, this will increase bulb life, greatly reduce heat, and improve coloration of the bulbs.

If you need any help doing this let me know- I built my canopy on a sunday afternoon- it really is very easy.

The only problem with this is, I have already purchased the ATI Sunpower last summer. I guess I could just finish the canopy I have started, even though it won't match the stand.
