I'm in the middle of setting up a reef tank. I will be going off to college in two years though and Dad will be moving to a bigger city. I may add fish later down the road a bit, but wouldn't corals be easier to move than fish would?

This is as long as I have the lights and proper filtration in the tank. My question is just for when we have to move.

I have never moved large tanks or long distances, but whenever i move my 29g around the house due to my mother getting mad at me :D...I would say corals are pretty easy, but depends if you are gunna keep like SPS, you may break a couple pieces off..But i mean, fish and corals arent that hard to move honestly IMO.

It would be primarily SPS. Some LPS corals as well, though.

Getting them out isn't so much a problem, as transporting would be. For a fish, we scoop it out of the tank and out it in a 5g bucket with water and a heater. We have the big problem of ammonia build-up in the bucket/bag.

Corals also go in a bag/bucket, but don't put out as much waste...or at least that is what I was getting at.

Corals are much easier! They also don't break out with ich when you glance at them the wrong way.

You shouldn't have problems with it unless your tank has had a history of it or new additions.

Well I plan to QT all fish in a 29g tank for a few weeks before adding them to the DT.

Coral are easier than fish. Try shipping a fish cross country in a bag with 6oz of water in it.
