Completely off topic. But has anyone ever used lego? Im not going to....i just thought it might be cool. Do you think if i left it in my tank long enough, it would become live lego?

You could change the way your rock scape looked everyday

I know that coralline has an affinity for plastic more so than glass. You'd be hard pressed getting Lego's to sink, I'd think. If you do it, I'd love a pic of that. Wouldn't look too terribly natural, though--:)

Basicly anything you stick in the tank will become "live" and function as "live rock". Sponges, little finding nemo decorations, a brick, whatever. The more porous it is, like rock and similar, the more bacteria grow on it, the more biofiltration you have. So the rock you put in your tank will be fully "live" rock after about 8 months or so, give or take a few.

You'd be fine with a beastly skimmer, some biofiltration (any rock work or biomedia) and maybe find a place for a refugium in there. You don't need sand or mud or anything special, just some chaeto algae and mangroves to help suck up those nitrates. Fuge algae eats the nitrates so ugly tank algae doesn't have to :)
