    Thanks guys.

This fish was like my friend. I rescued it from my LFS when it was maybe 2", and with a large nip out of its tail.

I've lost my fair share due to jumping. Never once was my tank uncovered either. Initially, it was fish jumping through the eggcrate. Then I went to clear mesh, but I still had a few vulnerable areas around the frame. I've since plugged everything up as best as possible.

    To date, I've lost:
    Labouti wrasse: $120
    Multicolor velvet wrasse: $100
    Filamented Flasher wrasse: $40
    McCoskers Flasher wrasse: $50

It's never easy, but it can always be worse...

bummer dude, sorry for the loss.

My Coral Beauty is my favorite fish in my tank, I would hate to see it go. Very relaxed personality, active all day, looks great and doesn't bother corals. You should pick another one up when you get your tank finished.

I think your rock is fine. If it was only dead for a short while I don't think your rock will be saturated with anything.. I don't think theres much to worry about - but a small WC couldn't hurt.

    This is true.

I think it was not so much that the fish died. But more that it was my first fish. It was one I really liked. This hobby is basically my life. I felt a connection with the fish & now that is gone.

I will get another fish in the future, but not until my tank is established again.

It's all part of the hobby I guess. We see this happen sometimes... Live & learn?

Sorry about your CB, Seano. Maybe he was stressed due to lack of space to swim? Although I've seen my LFS put CB's on 10"x12" tanks until they sell them. Some times there in there for weeks. But most of the time they have a good rotation.

Are you going to get another CB or have you looked at a different species?

    Thank you, Magnus.

I would like to get another Coral Beauty. The color is just awesome. I will be getting some smaller fish as well.
