    hello, well i had a question the thing is i bought a green clown goby a week and a half ago, and it was really small less that an inch! and since i put him in i only saw him one night, since then its been over a week and there is no trace of him! how can i know if its dead, will a nitrate spike occur because that hasn't happened.

    Sometimes not even that. It depends on the clean up crew. I had a red coris wrasse die and never saw a spike. Or the fish. Or the body. Nothing. Sometimes they just disappear without a trace!!!!

    He might still be in there. I had one and like you, I thought it was dead, but later found him hiding in a small crevice in my decoration rock. Mine was about 1/2".
