Just setup my new 29G fowlr aquarium! It has 2 yellowtail damsels in it! They are still a little skittish, but one of them is starting to eat. I got them yesterday and they have been in the tank for almost a day! I have one piece of live rock. I know I know, I need more live rock... Hope you enjoy. Btw I have two yt damsels but one was hiding when I took the picture.

Did you cycle this tank yet? you need WAY more live rock!!! Get those plastic decorations out, and get some rock in. You picked the 2 most aggressive damsels. Your gonna have problems either with both of them fighting, or with them fighting any new fish you add.

are you running any filtration on the tank? it needs some bio filter to support life! that bubbler isnt going to do much for you, other than create salt creep.

I hope you have time to read this bit of info... http://www.3reef.com/forums/new-hobby/whats-important-successful-tank-108699.html

The tank is all cycled and I have a fluval C4. And the yellowtail damsels are not the most aggressive. One of the most aggressive damsels would be the three spot... :)

I would have to disagree as ive owned both. My yellow tail killed my clown, and would have killed my goby if she wasnt hiding 24/7 bcuz he bullied em. when i went to replace my clown with a maroon, it pecked and bullied it, to the point where i got him (the damsel) out. But it would have killed all 3 fish. no doubt in my mind They are mean!! specially 2 in a small tank!!!

My 3 spot was very peaceful. Reason? because it was added to a tank last, not first. Your going to run into aggression, mark my words

Thats just today, you NEED more live rock. they hold the bacteria needed to break down the ammonia produced by your fish. without it, your gonna have issues. Guaranteed.

OK. So if I wanted to get clowns or a goby, would you recommend taking the yellowtails out first? then releasing the clowns? Or would you say that when I wanted clowns to just bring my yellowtails into the shop with me and just trade them out? And I know I need more rock... I found some lava rock but I was told that that contains metal.

Before you add any fish man, do yourself a favor and wait. Get you tank steady and add more live rock. before any fish

I would take them out yes. Do it now while they dont have much cover to hide in. If you got both of them out, and got a pair of clowns it would be just fine. And add a goby after youve got more LR

Ok thanks... I was told on here that yt's would be a great starting fish... So what am going to do is in a few days return the yellowtails and get 2 ocellaris clownfish. then maybe a sand sifting goby. Does that sound like it would work?
