Hey! Welcome to 3reef! I would also start with blue/green chromis! They are easy to keep, peaceful, form nice schools + reef safe! Good luck!

chromis need 30 gallons a piece. i wouldnt get crazy fast, slow is better. ammonia peaks first then nitrite then nitrate. its a never ending cycle with feeding, just smaller.

I agree with everyone else a couple chromis would be a great start + they are cheap . Damsels are good too but can become aggressive.

After the tank is done cycling Id start with at least a small clean up crew of some mixed snails, some blue and red leg hermits and maybe a few scarlet hermits. Id make sure the diatoms were cleaned up and no green algae present. Then Id add a chromis or two ( after at least 2 weeks in QT).
In fact if it were me starting out on a killer reef tank those fish would be going thru 4-5 weeks of hyposalinity also. A tank without ich is a beautiful thing.

sorry to jack your thread, but i have a question also, I wanted to start out with a coral of some kind. I have a 380w. metal halide on its way here. What would be the best coral to get? If i could get something that moves that would be cool :)
