reef lobster may hide all the time and it may kill the pistol shrimp.

like said above tank is too small for hippo or naso. you could have a yellow or sailfin, etc. just one thing before you make your decision about the tangs yes they will live, but you need to understand just how small the tank is for them and these fish in the wild swim 25 miles a day. personally i would get take them back once they grow unless you are thinking of going bigger if you like salt.(alot of people end up going bigger.)

the coral banded will hunt other shrimp down in a tank that size. they get pretty big and turn into killing machines.

other then i dont see any problems just shoot for 4 wpg's with your lighting. if your upgrading go t5. pc and vho's aren't worth buy unless you get them for next to nothing(not saying they won't work but its kinda like buying a computer from 90's)

it does but they the pacifics take a real long time to grow, if fed modestly. theres a lfs here that has one in a 50 gallon cube for atleast 5 years its still the size of a chips a hoy cookie.

valmingi's and lopezis and naso's in my expierence grow a couple inches a year

i don't want to excite you too much it may just be malnourished. next time ill ask there feeding schedule.

the red sea ones do seem to grow faster btw.

whatever i guess you can get any baby one you want as long as you realize they must go back once they get big enough.

No tang should grow that slow if fed. I've had mine for a year or two and it went from about 1 1/2" to 6 " not including tail and I do not feed a lot. I feed once/twice a day sometimes. I put a bit of algae in tank 3-4 times a week. I make sure she isn't sunken in at all, but don't gorge them.
