So I left the shop the other day and I knew I forgot something and went to check today and yep...the return pump has been off for about 36 hours. heaters, PS, and phosban reactor are also on the same switch....

water was at 76, DT had one K1 spinning in it... light had JUST come on so corals were all closed up, I hope they recover. The fish all looked a little stressed, breathing hard, but not at the waters surface...

I think I'll be ok, but any commiseration or advice would be nice.

You should be just fine. I don't know what temp your water swings to when power goes out--here in FL if I'm without power for a few days due to a hurricaine, my tank can approach the upper 80's. I'm guessing your swing would be downward, no?

The colder the water, the better able it is to hold O2, so you have that going for ya. In the absence of light, water movement, nutrient export ability; I'd say O2 level in the water has got to be one of the top 3 contributing factors to a tank's demise.

You'll be fine. Glad you caught it on time. :)

I'd guess you caught the error in time and all will do well again now that the equipment is back on. Maybe putting another PH in there to speed up the oxygen mix will help? Just a thought. Good luck to ya
