    what do u think about marine lands 400 dual bio wheel filter it has spray bars for the the bio wheeels my lfs said this woud work better than my canister i have 46 gallon bow front idont have room for a sump any comments or info would be great. thanks;D

    do you have a problem with your current set up? if its working then why switch. biowheels become nitrate factories just as much as canisters do. Either one you go with will work fine but will need lots of cleaning to prevent them from being nitrate factories, so dont switch unless your really going to benefit.

    If you have enough live rock in the tank you shouldn't need a biowheel. You could look into a hang on refugium or skimmer to add to your nutrient export, IMO those are much more useful on a reef tank setup.

    Check out Steve's post in this thread it pretty much sums it up even if you don't have a sump the sump isn't for bio filtration, that's what your rock does.
