I believe it is opposite, a 200 micron would have 200 holes per inch where as a 100 would only have 100 holes per inch, making the 200 finer in mesh. Not trying to derail the post, also its nice to know you can use the bleach you learn something new everyday.

Nope.....Micron is a measurement all it's own. It has nothing to do with holes per inch. Micrometre - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

BTW, you're not derailing the post. Now other people will get to learn what Micron means. Since filter socks are measured in Microns, this is useful info.

I stand corrected inwall, sometimes you learn more than one thing new everyday! Please accept my Apology. I was thinking more in terms of mesh than micron.

    K...now STOP IT!!!

I understand mesh size and why you thought what you did. Don't apologize....anyone could think the way you did.

Maybe I missed it but as to the comment about using the washing machine...

Some people use theirs, apparently successfully. I personally don't trust it, you never know when some soap residue or something else will get left inside the washing machine (or collect on the lid and flake off during the cycle etc) and contaminate your filter socks. I would just use a bucket of hot water and bleach personally, that's all I trust.
