    Hey Everyone,
I have two black Ocellaris Clownfish and I've had them about 2 years and they're well established and happy. These Two clowns host the emperor 400 filter return and dont really come out but to feed. It's a bummer because they are absolutely beautiful fish. i dont know if i want to, but if i were to block off the area under the filter will this stress them out to much and make them sick or will they move on and find a new spot? I dont want to rock the boat but i just want to enjoy them, but as long as their happy and i get to see them at least 5 minutes a day I guess I'm ok.
Thanks for your time and any advise you may have.

Possibly they like the flow in that area. Have you experimented with additional powerheads placed elsewhere?

Thats the funny thing, there isnt much flow up under the filters. I just added a new powerhead to the opposite side of the tank where they have never been, but i have not messed with any of the powerheads in many months.

Maybe that's what they like about that particular spot.

its pretty hard to stress clowns out so I doubt you will stress them by blocking it off

Mine have also started sleeping near the pump outlet. I guess it's alright since they spend all day in the front of the tank

Try creating more flow in the area that they're hanging out in. That might make them seek out other residence. I wouldn't worry about making them mad....they're just fish after all :D
