Not sure if I have asked but I am planning on using two of these
Filstar XP Canister Filters xp4 and was wondering if anyone has used them before There seems to be two kinds of people when it comes to these filters. Love them or hate no in between. Thanks in advance. I looked at the Eheim and the same with them some people even said the company was bad so looking for people on here who have or had.

I had two xp3's on my 125 gallon cichlid tank. I loved them. I think they are absolutely bulletproof. The xp4 will just have one more tray than the xp3 which is nice for adding whatever media you want. I also ran one aquaclear just for surface agitation.

XP's are some of the best canister filters around. By FAARRR the easiest to clean and maintain. XP's have huge bay that you can load up with nay media you want. They pop off take apart easy. Those are the only ones we keep in stock. We have clients with xp3's running on 6/7yrs.

I dunno about messy..I run them on a number of tanks, easiest/cleanest things to maintain on the market.

I've used a handful of canister filters over the last decade and the XPs are my favorite.

I had a xp3 on my planted tank and it worked great. Cleaning it was pretty easy just unplug lift up the hose disconnect and remove canister clean hook back up let it fill by syphon then plug back in...pretty painless.
