I flooded my place again this week. This makes the third time total, although the first two were in my freshwater days. (30% WC's daily in a discus tank ... it was bound to happen)

    I gotta do better.

I live in a mobile home, so it runs down through the floor and then floods the insulation under the house. I have to crawl under there and cut open the vapor barrier and release the water or rot/mold will set in ... like a MUTHA. Then after it's all dry, I have to crawl under there AGAIN and fix it all back the way it was.

And there are foul, nameless creatures under my house that can eat a small child whole. :wreck:

Can I play? I just made this video after reading this thread:

The sensors on the other side are directly in my DT. It's too dark now for pics, so I borrowed this one from the web. The left one is a laser. I wipe it monthly. If water is too low, this sensor engages the ATO. If for some reason it fails to detect the water is full, the float one is a backup.

Been there, done that, and more than once too!
Thats why I eventually installed a laundry sink in my garage and put the buckets or bottles in it so now if I forget it goes down the drain and not on the kitchen floor.

When i first got my ro/di unit it says to discard the first 10 gals so i thought i would let it run and go to work. I thought it out and put my 5gal container in the sink with something under one side so it was at a slight angle. Came home later to find that my ro/di unit was not running anymore?!? Found a note that read....Your fish thing flooded your apt. call me. I was living in an apt and the note was from my landlord. Well it turns out the cheap a$$ adapter that came with the unit came right off the faucet, sprayed water across the kitchen and flooded my kitchen and my down stairs neighbors kitchen.

I read this thread yesterday and got thinking that I was surprised I hadn't done it yet. Well I did it today! Luckily I caught it just as it really started to flow lol. Time to hook up that float valve I have collecting dust.
