    Luna, I have my ro running into a res. with a float valve. I have a float switch in my sump that controls the pump from my res. to my sump. The way I see it, I would have to have a really bad day for both of these to fail.

    Yup I've done it while I was awake and done it many times now I put my 5 gallon bucket in side a brute bucket. I've learned the wet way

    where was this video an hour ago? lol. guess who overflowed his water.....................again. yup me, went to lfs and got talkin , and then with a gun to my head by daughter bought a coral , and came home and had an overflow. lol. guess its time to idiot proof the idiot now. :)

    Good idea, Luna. If you don't use an ATO, then this is the perfect solution for those who are apt to forget they started filling a vessel some time ago. Like me!! I'm the master of forgetting. I've done it many times, and no matter what I do, it seems--there's no cure.

    Your alarm will work wonders--providing there's someone within ear range when the thing goes off. Guys like divott, though--he'd be outta luck.

    That's the beauty of an ATO. Set it and TRULY forget it. Again: if executed properly, a correctly thought-out ATO system saves headache, and need for alarm systems to notify you that you've forgotten something. :)
