If I was closer, I'd drive & help Wes. I know how it feels to be away and get that phone call. The hair on the back of your neck (and a coupla other places I won't mention) stand on end!!

CAN ANYONE CLOSER HELP????!!!!

Thanks for the support, it really means a lot seabass. Yeah I felt my legs giving up when she called.. Had to sit down for a sec.

I called an hour ago and mom said corals look better but she doesn't see any fish anymore. She mentioned 1 clown still alive but she said it looked like it was about to die.

What makes corals be ok but fish die like that?
( I mean corals being ok from mom description)

could be an amonia spike if you had some deaths. The amonia would affect the fish and not the coral so much.

I am sorry to hear this.....any way you could set up a small tank at school? Break the other tank down and keep everything to set back up again. It's a pretty big job to take on a SW tank for someone who does not have the knowledge. And this is going to continue to cause you some problems down the road. Best thing you could do is either break it down, or get someone other than your mom to take care of it.

Sorry, I don't mean to sound harsh and I really encourage you to continue school. You are doing a great job. And I definitely don't want to encourage you to get out of the hobby, just take some time to think about what you are asking your mom to do for you. This was not a hobby that she wanted to start, is it?

You know, I had a heater (glass) pop in my first tank. That was a 110g. The fish were all dead except for a Trigger who was trying to swim. There was something wrong with its swim bladder? I put him out.
BUT, CUC was fine, corals were OK. And I got a nice shock when I got real close to the tank!!

    No, pretty much all me.
I'm not blaming her, she is done all she can do. I just can't believe it happened the week when i decided not to go back home because I really wanted to stay at college.

I could of been home by now, done a water change, tested water and bought anything I might need.

I could set up a 14g in college but who is going to be taking care of it on Christmas break.. Or summer...

A 14g is a whole lot easier to break down and move than a 150g ;D

Besides then you would be able to take care of it and can still concentrate on school.

Yep, that's Murphy's Law.....something like this will ALWAYS happen at the worst time!
